Finger style and Acoustic Progressive guitar, flute, synth and Mellotron.
Welcome to the music of Carlo D'Anna's Ridiculous Dream music. Also known as "Dream Warrior" in some circles. Influences and music styles ranging from basic to progressive rock, with definite Retro seventies sound. If you enjoy the sound of Moody Blues, George Harrison, Genesis, Dead Can Dance, and others of the same style, more or less, you will probably like this music. I use quite a bit of Mellotron and acoustic fingerstyle guitar as well.

Definitely Progressive Rock! :) Is that a real Mellotron or is it digital? I can get pretty close to a Mellotron string sound by using digital strings and adding some distortion and chorus to replicate wow and flutter but I don't think I can get that close.
This takes me back to a Moody Blues concert at the L.A. Colosseum in 1970. Wow!!! What an amazing concert. Thanks for the flashback. ;)
By the way, cool lyrics.

I can hear the King Crimson and Moody Blues influence here, it's wonderful to hear a song with this type of styling...makes me wish there was more of this music around. Top class lyrics, excellent vocals and instrumentation. I love the ethereal, haunting vibe.

I was listening, and reading your lyrics..and you know this song is worded like someone who is going through an emotional change..which results in growth that cannot be denied, nor turned from.
The resulting change burns something out of that person, and there's no turning back to what was.
The music has both an epic and oriental feel...sounding haunted, but glorious.
I enjoyed listening. :D

Wow! Epic intro, ohhh!.....turns into such an amazing early Floydesque piece, Carlo this is incredible, such a beautiful contemplative flow. Fantastic lyrics, vocal work, guitar and drums. And you sure have mastered the flute, such emotion!
All the stars in the sky for this baby!

the words, and delivery remind me a bit of Syd Barrett,
I think this is a beautiful blend of dream & reality Carlo. Syd and the boys would have LOVED it, I do!!

Carlo, this is beautiful, it does have the late 60s vibe when music expanded along with the minds, from the drugs maybe, but still, it was an era that brought some of the most meaningful music. And speaking of meaningful, your lyrics are very poetic, excellent I would say in a world of repetitious, I love you..s
So this song really stands out for many reasons, in my mind.
