Zirconium Mechanism: Threat to mankind (March 1988)
Something a bit different
Zirconium Mechanism 1982-1992
A decade of self development. I start with a cheap electric guitar a practice amp and 2 tape decks (not reel to reel), and as I earn money after just leaving school,I plough most of it into new and second hand gear.So the sound canvas increases as the years go on.
Because I had no multi track the 1st few albums have different tracks on the left and right channels, this changes when I get a tascam 244 (4 track),the first stereo album is Satellite's depth.
Story behind the song
At the time information was being shown on TV about the AIDS virus, and fear was rife.
So I made this song as a response, upbeat happy and dark at the same time.
Lyrics
1,I'll open up some wine,every thing's fine,
I hope someday you'll be mine,
In every way,you hear what I say,
I look at you in that funny way,
The sort of look that makes it OK,
Go out in the woods, and sample the goods,
But that was OK a few years before,
Some funny disease swept our shore,
Now no one is safe,
Who's infected?
Chorus:
It won't happen to me,
This could never be,
I am safe in my my concrete room,
I cannot believe all this doom and gloom.
2,Will we live to naturally die?
Or before we fly, into the sky,
Will be catch a disease?
That may end us all,
So runaway in your sugar sweet world,
It won't happen now that I'm insured,
Are you sure my friend ?
We can make you bend,
Look after yourself you need not fear,
Sit down in front the TV with your beer,
But be careful you,you just don't know,
If you catch it, it will grow.
Chorus,then repeat all.
