PAINTED SKIES Lyrics & music written by Leo Nicholas Lemon (1978) [instrumental introduction] There’s a memory of your face in my pocket, An image of our flight into the sun, I guess our love must have gotten too hot babe, Now I just hope what is done is done. (What’s done is done). You’re as beautiful a person can be, baby, There could never be another you (Not for me). You gave to me as a little child, my girl, What no other woman could ever do. (I love you). Chorus: And I’ll sail the troubled skyways, With my wings out pushing hard, And I’ll fly like a soul (fly like a soul) going higher and higher, Baby, I’m goin’ to reach the PAINTED SKIES. Babe, you’ll never know, just how true I’ve been, And possibly you would not really care, But, with the beauty you’ve shown me, My Love, I could never share. Chorus: And I’ll sail the troubled skyways, With my wings out pushing hard, And I’ll fly like a soul (fly like a soul) going higher and higher, Baby, I’m goin’ to reach the Painted Skies. PAINTED SKIES!

Such an easy, free flowing feel. So reminiscent of the warm feeling that came from Neil Young's "After The Gold Rush" album. Really nice, great song.

Beautiful song with lovely sentiments! Great work on the vocals/harmonies. Even though the song was written some time ago, it remains contemporary and fresh - a true classic!
