I am an independent writer/performer/producer making summery sounds with lots of harmony, guitars, and emotion.
Brian Wilson said of his epic work Pet Sounds, "I wanted to make the listener feel loved." Those words have always remained with me and I hope to share loving, healing sounds with the listener as well.

Johnny,
It's so nice to hear your voice in music again. Every artist goes through dry periods. You are back again! Your sound is still tight as ever. Strong melody in this song "PRAY", which is typical in your renditions. Strong melodies give songs that "sing-along" feel, like what the Beatles did in the 60's. I also like your panning of the guitars on the right vs the harmonies on the left. The lyrics are very poetic as they depict our struggles in prayer. Great song! Great Prayer!
Feel free to give your own unique rendition to "SATISFY", whether it be a "Beach Boys" flavor,"Rock" or whatever. Artists have done these things as you know only too well. Whitney Houston sang over Dolly Parton's "I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU" much different than how Dolly sang it. Whitney's version became a huge hit. So you never know.
May God be with you and protect you, as you now serve in Korea. It would be nice if it's possible, for you to add a picture on this site of what that part

Johnny,
you are BACK, this was worth the wait .
wow what a direction you have taken here , I hear soul and gospel and a beach music all in one like sounding composition it must be those maj7 chords which adds a jazzy soul feel , Almost like this song was written in later years after " In my room ". REMEMBER ?
it is definitely your stlye but somehow different , VERY GOOD vocals as usual ,Not sure how your recording situation has changed but I can hear the difference even on little computer speakers ,
Wonderful chorus , I think the melody is fantastic , nice tone to your lead vocal I have have only one mixing comment ( something I want to learn )the harmonies are so amazing, Rythmic and lush I would want to hear them better and less of the guitars but I have no idea how you would accomplish that without loosing something somewhere ........Thanks for putting this up and sharing , I am on my fourth listen , very soothing and inspiring .
cheers
wait till you hear Ta

Absolutely fantastic composition and performance.Maj7s galore!! Sounds very heavenly in verses, and hot in middle eights.Very good production, too.I think it's all more to the kinda DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) you're using.Believe me,-Steinberg Cubase or Nuendo have a very palpable difference auditively to other PC-based Daws,-they are more clear and articulated. That's not to say anything negative about your song or mix-mast.That's just to point to the the fact that your song might shine even better. At the crucial moments some DAWS become saturated (they just can't handle such a load of Audio info). Also,I've been using alot of UAD-1 pluggins as of recently,-man,you will be amazed,-they're emulating an Abbey Roads' mixers,-vintage etc. That's just mind-blowin'!!!!Highly recommended.
Anyways, that's a great song of yours showing your best sides.
Thanx alot,Johnny, for your comment on our joined venture with Thomas and Amy,-they are the main suspects if we're talkin' about what makes t

I feel a deep vibe to this one.. a lot of emotion behind this song and I really pick up on the mood here. It's beautifully sung and the harmonies complement the melody without overpowering.. the chord progressions also contribute to the mood of the piece, and it's one of the first of yours that I have heard that really has an emotional overtone to it, which just proves your versatility in your songwriting, performing and arranging. Well-done!

The Spirit of the Lord is coming off this in waves..I KNEW the dry spell would end, but not when. The message in this song speaks LOUD and CLEAR to everyone. :)
Emotional delivery, along with strong writing, makes this a hit in my book. :D The guitar work is beautiful, Johnny. :)
Thanks for letting me know, my friend.
