Story behind the song
Well its about the life of a tree and what it sees as the generations pass, right up to the point the workmen turn up with the chainsaws.
Lyrics
Seed Of Change Talked to a tree for over a week There he stands strong but meek He was here before us all but now it's time to bend and fall Four hundred years since being a seed now to make way for our need He's seen a lot he's seen it all but now he has his curtain call He told me- its time to die he don't know the reason why marks adorn his massive frame as I search to find my name Four hundred years since being a seed now to make way for our need He's seen a lot he's seen it all but now he has his curtain call listen ---- to the trees !! They want to build a road you see Pour some concrete over me Don't try to shed a tear for me I can't live I'm just a tree bring on the machines don't cut me don't cut me

SEEDS OF CHANGE is a great song and your musicianship and vocals are magnificent. Please hear my new songs as well, Hugs, Lekzee

I've noticed some differing opinions on this song. But I have to say I think you've done a brilliant job - on the writing, performance and mixing. Where people often go wrong when listening is not running it through several sets of headphones or speakers before offering opinions on production. It's often their own equipment that's colouring the sound and not a problem with your production. I found no problem in hearing the lyrics and the vocals sat just perfectly in the mix. You have got the production perfect...trust your own instincts. Love the drums (great panning!), the changes, and guitar work. Really excellent stuff.

Really like this. Lots of interesting parts and layers. Keeps your attention for the full 10 minutes. Great riff keeping it together through the first section and good tension build up at the end from the "saw"

Enjoyed this very much! A great song with the right balance of keyboards, guitar, and drums. The vocals got better as the song went along and I like how the song ends. Good job!

i agree with roxie on much of her comments - but where we differ is this: i played the song while i read the lyrics so i heard every word. i'm not sure if it was because i had the lyrics or if the vox are right on - regardless, the lyrics rock, the guitar and synth and all the layered instruments and sounds...then the crazy vox and guitar change up at the end - very good turn of the screw at the end - it kept me interested and i enjoyed it so much. i can't believe i listened all the way thru (i did because i enjoyed it) but i haven't been able to listen to a song that long since i was using my albums as seed cutting boards! nice drums - like the different channels used

I'm kind of stuck in the middle on this. I agree with Rox and Wade but I still don't get the Sergeant Pepper part. Did I miss something? All is good and production is over the top.

Man, this must have taken forever to finish! I think your description of the song is spot on. I can hear the Pink Floyd for sure, but the Sargeant Pepper takes a little while to get. But I have seen the light!! The guitar is awesome, and the keyboards are awesomer. :) Overall a great production!!

Another enjoyable and melodious Pink Floyd style rocker and it's a good one. Excellent guitar work. The bass and drums are in perfect sync. The heavy layering of effects and other goodies keep you wondering what's next. The generous use of dynamics and major surprises towards the end kept me on the edge of my chair. The build up towards the end then a fade and another build up with lots of very strange stuff going on got my attention. Like I said: Pink Floyd style! I absolutely love it!!! Rock on! 5 stars +++ I still had a problem pulling out some of the lyrics on this guys. They are OK when the singer tightens up on the mic. I didn't have an issue with it on this one though because there is so much other stuff going on that I could have cared less about the lyrics. Outstanding work! Roxie ;)
