Story behind the song
The title came to me in a conversation with Zozimo of Astronomusic...Zozimo used it as a salutation of greeting, but I felt The Autumn Of South Hemisphere hint at a closing of the year, the impending end of life...and the sadness that goes with all that...also looking back on one's own life and what is to come.
Lyrics
Thirteen was a lucky year My teenage revelation. I saw the world for what it is, all lies and misinformation…Oh! High school was a waste of time I reached beyond their doors My favorite nun she kicked the habit Do you think she knew the score?...Oh yeah! Ch: I got on a train, in the pouring rain. Couldn’t see a thing through the foggy pane Non stop tour, from East to West I just can’t seem to remember, all the rest. Solo Ch: I got on a train, in the pouring rain. Couldn’t see a thing through the foggy pane Non stop tour, from East to West I just can’t seem to remember, all the… Mid 8: Lies! Deceits! Broken promises between the sheets. No one gives a rats ass Smoking all that funny grass Illusions! Delusions! You’ll never find your self. You’ll never find a way, out of here. Ch: I got on a train, in the pouring rain. Couldn’t see a thing through the foggy pane Non stop tour, from East to West I just can’t seem to remember, all the rest. Now I’m back where I belong The Autumn of South Hemisphere Will I recall the missing years, the missing tears? The twilight of my life.

This has a smugness that I like. I can visualize the video - slinking back in a big stuffed chair like a slithery gecko, with the choruses turning into the smoke trailing upwards from his cigarette holding fingers.
