Artist Information Biography A southern upbringing and Elvis, Merle and Conway and Cash always on the radio was how Country music became my musical core. I played drums and sang all through high school but chose the military career instead of music. I served 11 years as an Army Officer, won the Bronze Star Medal for actions in the Gulf War, and worked in the corporate world, before I started writing songs about a year ago. Unexpectedly, lyrics and melodies were just there and I just had to get them out. It wasn't until I received what I am convinced was a sign from above that I realized I had to follow this new path to wherever it may lead. Living in New York is a great experience but it can be scary at times. I was confronted by four guys late one night on the subway. All of a sudden, someone who I am convinced was my guardian angel intervened and before I could even even thank him; he was gone. What finally showed me that music was my path, was seeing my guardian angel on the subway again recently. He was sleeping on one of the benches in the same subway car that I was in. and didn't even say a word. I had to see was that cradled in his arms, like he was protecting his most prized possession, was a beat up, worn out and well used old electric guitar! At that moment I knew. The next day, I received a songwriting contract offer. So here I am. Thanks so much for stopping by

What an Honor Words and Music by Weston James Copyright © 2008 Weston James Music Lyrics VERSE I White stones in perfect rows set against a verdant background Mark where those heroes lie who heard the call Silent in repose, they lie stately and serene Testaments to valor few will ever see CHORUS What an honor to share this ground with these so worthy few What an honor in your legion now having made the sacrifice like you What an honor to bear this flag, as our funeral pall What an honor, at peace at last knowing we gave all VERSE II With thanks of a grateful nation, they gave her my nation's shroud As bugles wept in the distance, and rifles fired as I was lowered down Please my love don't mourn me now for I am truly free Peace has come and I can rest. I'm honored that you loved me CHORUS What an honor to share this ground with these so worthy few What an honor in your legion now having made the sacrifice like you What an honor to bear this flag, as our funeral pall What an honor, at peace at last knowing we gave all TAG What an honor to bear this flag, and hear the bugle's final call What an honor, at peace at last knowing, knowing, we gave all
