Never met anyone yet that doesn't like this song - Surprise me! Hate it!
Just little ol' me and a bunch of instruments and Sonar 6.
Story behind the song
I was reminiscing one day, wrote in very quickly and recorded it live immediately after. Plan to record a better version of it at some point. When the time is right. My favourite song I've penned in 13 years of writing. Everything in it is personal to me and past experiences although some is hidden in the context.
Lyrics
Take what you want if you like it alot, and pull it apart at the seems
Believing in things that you cannot see will not solve anything
You can take on the sword or strike up accord, just don't point your finger at me
Over a cross precious hours are lost at the cost of ones sanity
Photographs and psychopaths, serenading lies
The time it takes to make mistakes, ignoring the sublime
So just remember better times, with the whiskey, song and rythme
Roast beef on a sunday, smoking, getting high, oh what a time
Take what you want if you like it alot, a snapshot or a pose
The cause of the curse that you nurse is a dream, I think, god only knows
So write it all down and twist it around, for all the world to see
Do what you like if it makes you happy, just don't point your finger at me
It's like a kick in The Shins when James Mercer sings,
You should Know Your Onion well, I guess that time will tell
The evidence is clear, and, it happens every year
We, untie all the knots, we, gather all we've got for our snapshots
Take what you like if you want it alot, and wrap it up in gold
With a secret never told, a thousand bleeding hearts
A pocket full of dreams, where nothings what it seems
A false security of hope, fading to the sea for eternity
Hope I'm free!
