Welcome! I am a singer/songwriter of different styles of Christian and Country Music....Enjoy the message I bring, and may your heart be ministered to.
Hello! I'm very glad you stopped in to listen and visit. :) The message I carry is simply this...Jesus loves you and I do too. Hope you enjoy what you hear, and get a blessing from the music, as God does not give His people gifts to just set them upon the shelf, and never be used. I'm only as good as the Lord helps me to be, and I'm thankful for the blessings He has bestowed upon me. I'm NOT perfect, never claimed to be; but on the other hand, I have a message to minister in song, and I do that to the best of my ability. I fully realize there are many songs I demo here that don't fit my style/voice, but I can't run out and get a singer that fits everytime I write a song. :) What I write or cover comes from the heart. I've endured many hard trials in my life, and each one has, in one way or the other made its way into a song that others can relate to. All of my songs except for noted exceptions are free downloads. I'm not a professional by any means, nor am I interested in becoming one; and so the music is given away just as freely as the message was given to me. Story behind the song
Back in 1986, I went to work at FoodWorld in Gadsden,AL..and the first time I met Pam Hannah, she was standing there with one hand on her hip, and I remember thinking.."She looks like a smarty-pants." Not a good first impression for me, yet, there is no telling what she thought of me, either, LOL.....but somehow we became friends, and bonded for a lifetime...hers. We stuck together through everything..raised our kids together, laughed together, cried together..most of the time you didn't see one without seeing the other. We were closer to each other than we were to our own families. She was there for me, when my dad died in 1994, and again when my mother died in 1999. And I was there as she suffered through her bout of cancer for over two years. In short, she was the best human friend, I've ever had, and there will not be another person on this earth like her. She meant so much to me that simple words can't explain, and I loved her very much. We had many long talks about her disease, and about other things..she was afraid, depressed, and needed understanding. She was angry, sometimes..which was understandable. I was there as much as I could be, given the profession I'm in, and my fleetmanager gave me a week off so I could go and be at the hospital with Pam when the cancer had moved to her colon. On Christmas Eve of 2007..she went to be with the Lord. To lose her has really hurt me, but at the same time, I do comprehend that I will not always understand what God is about when He allows things like this to happen. These were and are in part, the memories of a lifetime. I smile when I think about practical jokes she played on me from time to time, and I still remember the day she told me she had been diagnosed with cancer; that broke my heart. But, I hoped, prayed, hoped some more, prayed some more..crying earnestly before the Lord to spare my friend, heal her..but His will be done, not mine. In the end, she WAS healed...she passed beyond the pain and into peace. She was 47 years old. Songwriting, for me, has always been therapeutic..and this has been no exception. "Between You And The Lord" was written in 2005 as a song of hope, not just for Pam, but for others that were battling sickness, disease, or any other struggle.. People think when they pray for someone and they die, they've failed..no, they haven't, because as I've stated before, death is another type of healing...and hey, don't cry for the dead..they've crossed over into a better place..and we're still here. Someone once said we had it all backwards, and I now understand the remark..we are supposed to cry when a baby is born, rejoice when someone passes away...but it's done the other way around. In Death She Won the War was written from the heart, and sung from the heart..the message is what's important, never mind the singing..I started to resing the song, and I can't. So here it is, with just the piano, and Kurt Lewis Neufer's guitar picking to compliment it, thanks, Kurt. I sincerely hope you enjoy the listen..and if you are hurting, let this song comfort you. For though in life the battle is lost..in death the war is won. Much love, many hugs, Tammy
Lyrics
Written by Tammy Swindell 04/06/08 Dedicated to Pamela R. Hannah who died of cancer on 12/24/07 Vs 1 Today I learned I'd lost, The best friend I'd ever had, We were there for each other, In good times, and in bad. Now she's gone, I cannot cry. In pain that runs so deep; A knot I can't untie, Torn apart, and incomplete. (Chorus) I've been left here all alone, My best friend is gone In this life, I won't see her anymore. But there was so much to gain, At the end of her pain. And I know, she's walked through Heaven's Door. Though in life she lost the battle, In death she won the war. Vs 2 Memories come without warning, They cover more than 20 years. We shared alot of laughter, And we shared many tears. To let her go's been hard to do; Though I've not had a choice. She's in a better place, Yet, I find it hard to rejoice.

Tammy, This is a beautiful song, The piano and guitar sound very pretty together. Your singing is spot on. I love your piano playing, absolutely beautiful. A sad song as the melody inflects, a very fitting tribute to your friend. I have me song uploaded thanks to Sir Kurt's assistance. I only wish that I had a decent photo of me to put up on me page. Cheers, Kristy

Hi Tammy, This must have been one of the hardest things you've done. I know that because I've been trying to finish a song I started for my brother after he died young some 30 years ago. I hope to finally finish that soon. This is a moving tribute, and I'm sure your Pam is smiling down on you now. Lots of love, Ron

Hugsss Tammy, well to be honest, I don't quite know how you managed to sing this. I was choked up just listening. I guess we can all apply your beautiful tribute's words to a loved friend or family member, for me, my father and grandfather. Regardless of all else, Kurt and yourself have done a great job on this, and although sorry for your loss, I am sure Pam is in a better place. Cheers and love Anton.

HI Tammy How are you my girl?, sorry it's been so long. This is a wonderful track Tammy and a lovely tribute to a friend. It sounds like your working too hard again, slow down! All things are fine over here, music's on hold right now as mike has gone on yet another holiday but i've almost got a new CD finished so a break is good. Take care my friend and have a great weekend. Best wishes as always Danny
A wonderful tribute to a friend, who had to leave this world too soon. Sometimes it is difficult to understand, why God can let things like this happen. / Peo

Tammy, So sweet and pretty...I'm way to sensative to this kind of music and as you well know I have no problem expressing my feelings when they come. It is by Gods' plan that this happens though humanly we will never understand until the end comes for each and everyone of us. This is a very beautiful tribute to your dear friend Pam. Lots of hugs, Bob and Patty
