Story behind the song
I was touring with a country band called "Whistlestix" based in San Angelo, TX and I wrote this song at around 3:00 in the morning in Durango, Colorado. I guess all my traveling, including growing up following my Dad's work on road construction inspired this song. This song was recorded on an Eight Track reel to reel in a spare bedroom in a "band house" in Nashville with live drums set up in the living room.
Lyrics
My Home Is On The Highway - Wade Jackson I was born on the highway Like a gypsy on the run And I grew up watchin' white lines From the back of a pickup truck As I grew older and started drivin' I remember how it was fun And way back then I never realized That my traveling had just begun CHORUS Because my home is on the highway I guess that I was meant to roam And my home is on the highway And the highway is my home My whole life's been like a highway It keeps a rollin' on and on And I've never been unhappy 'Cause this life's been the only one I've known Well, I have memories of many faces And I have driven from dusk 'till dawn I've spent the night in different places But in the morning, I'd be gone CHORUS

Hi Wade, gotta say I like your voice and the whole arrangement, sounds great, you represent the style of countrymusic I first started listening to,traditional country, Johnny Cash was actually the first artist I listened to in this genre, and he´s still one of my favourites, the fact that I´m a trucker, among many other trades, makes me love this song even more, have a nice day,now and 4 ever,;), Greger S
Wonderful song indeed.Loving it right up.Your Songramp & S.C.Bro.~(;Yrral Mallik;)
