Is Christ Divided? The answer is no.
Only Man's religion is divided. For Man's Religion is dictated by a theology which starts with the scriptures and uses human reasoning to try and understand and explain what the scriptures are saying. Which cannot be accomplished. For the natural man cannot understand the scriptures. Consider 1st Corinthians 2:14 (But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. )
The scriptures are Spiritual. e.g. God is a spirit i.e. John 4:24, ( God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. )
Jesus Is God i.e Matthew 22:41 thru 46, ( While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions. )
Jesus is the Word that became flesh, i.e.John 1:1 ( In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ) and 1st John 1:1 ( That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; )
The Word is The scriptures, and so must be spiritually discerned.
Human reasoning of scriptures leads to a tossed to and fro confrontation with others using the same process.
This is why we have so many differing sects, or denominations.
In the Gospel of John chapter 17 verse21 Jesus prayed that those who come to believe in Him would be one.
Looking at today's number of differing denominations, one thing is clear, Many who profess to be Christians are not true Christians and definitely are not one. And The Testimony for Jesus Christ is greatly diminished by having a diiffernt brand of so called Christianity on every street corner.
Which is what the enemy has worked for from the beginning. Knowing every house or city divided cannot stand, i.e.Matthew 12:25
However, True Christians are one, for they receive the knowledge of Christ directly from God. i.e Matthew 16:17 ( And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. )
All True Christians learn the same teaching. i.e. John 14:26 ( But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. )
i.e. 1st John 2:27
( But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. )
The Holy Spirit will not teach one believer one thing and another believer something different. i.e. 1st Corinthians 14:33 ( For God Is Not The Author Of Confusion, But Of Peace, As In All Churches Of The Saints. )
