Howdy Jamey and Ms. Rosey, This one has captured that childlike appeal in both lyrics and melody about our first true heroes, our parents. It has what I'd call a transposed European folksong to America flow to it. The melody is charming and the lyrics really capture how a child percieves big ol' dad going off to work and how he takes the time for a little love along the way in that mysterious way they do, just for a little surprise. I can't help but like this song!!!!!!!!!! The arrangement with mandolin, guitar and your harmonies are heartfilled, wholesome and perfectly blended as superb ear candy!!!!!!!!! Songs should have heart and this one defines that to a tee!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's just not enough stars...............my friends, but I chalked up all I could muster!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best to you my friends, Wade

Rosie's blog had popped up on on the country chart page..and I was reading her poem...then looked to see if it had ever been put to music. :) Nice job, Jamey and Rose... This strikes chords in the heart..and describes memories of a secure and happy childhood...of a man who loved his family very much...and though he had to work VERY hard, he still found time to encourage his children to be all they could be. You two were blessed to have a father like this. :) Have a great day, Tammy :)
Jamey, you and your Sis, make a great team. I really like this one; but then I like most all of your songs. Your voice and arrangements are right down my alley; and the lyrics just top-notch. Verne

Hi Jamey, Thanks for your kind words on "Land Of Our Birth". Taking a listen to "The Usual Way". Great collab between you and Rosie. The song gives a clear insight into the character of a man you both obviously love so much. I lost my father when I was just 16 months old, and gain my picture of him through stories like this told by my siblings. The mandolin sounds great and compliments the guitar well. You play both instruments very well. I should get mine out and spend more time on it. I have a dobro too that I'm halfway through learning. I must find the time to practice more. Well, take care and keep producing your fine music, Ron

Wow! Already a top 100 song in only a few days on the charts! I love the melody you chose for 'The Usual Way.' It must be so fun to be able to create a song like you do, be able to play all the instruments, and have a singing voice to boot! I'm so honored to jot a few lyrics and then see you take off with them! I bet Mom and Dad will both like this one. Your doing so well with the Mandolin. Great job....great music! :) :) :) Rosie Clare
