Hello! I'm very glad you stopped in to listen and visit. :) The message I carry is simply this...Jesus loves you and I do too. Hope you enjoy what you hear, and get a blessing from the music, as God does not give His people gifts to just set them upon the shelf, and never be used. I'm only as good as the Lord helps me to be, and I'm thankful for the blessings He has bestowed upon me. I'm NOT perfect, never claimed to be; but on the other hand, I have a message to minister in song, and I do that to the best of my ability. I fully realize there are many songs I demo here that don't fit my style/voice, but I can't run out and get a singer that fits everytime I write a song. :) What I write or cover comes from the heart. I've endured many hard trials in my life, and each one has, in one way or the other made its way into a song that others can relate to. All of my songs except for noted exceptions are free downloads. I'm not a professional by any means, nor am I interested in becoming one; and so the music is given away just as freely as the message was given to me. Story behind the song
I wrote this song in November of 1997, did one track for it, then; and was just now getting around to doing another..I have the track for it finished, but the arrangement on this particular one was a studio accident...I was trying to copy some tracks on my keyboard to give the brass more presence. When the tracks finished copied, my original piano arrangement was overwritten, and the WRONG instruments showed up in the form of 3 piano parts..they were a higher piano than I was ever used to playing. :) It took me two days to figure out this was a form of Jazz piano, and I added the string section you hear in the first verse so the bass wouldn't be by itself :)...it jumps in parts, and I can't fix that, but I thought it sounded kinda cool, went ahead and did a vocal for this, along with harmony. :) Yes, I make mistakes, too. LOL

a studio accident? it sounds absolutely lovely to me! i often find that some of the best recordings happen when they're unplanned and done in one take. i remember this tune well, "on top of the world" has always been one of my favorite carpenters songs, and your version is just as lovely! adding it to my station and leaving you 5 stars all the way! love Hayley

Accident or not this is a nice sound, always liked the Carpenters sound and you really nailed the difficult vocal parts! Cool the way you fit the awesome lyrics, and the higher register piano works very well. Everybody knows this melody by heart and it will be a pleasure for all to hear this fresh take on it.
