The project started as a jam night a few years ago. Randy and Joseph with a mutual friend (Michael Desheles) would get together on Friday night and sing gospel and cover tunes. In the first year they would play a song written Randy called "Damn You". When Michaels work schedule changed he was unable to attend the jams session. That's when Randy and Joseph started moving their efforts towards writing songs. It's also when the name changed from "Randy Joe Michael" to "Randy Joe" It took about a year to write the songs for their first CD titled "Curse in Disguise". They really didn't have a specific direction they were headed, so the CD has some rock, country and blues. They recorded all the songs at Hi-Z Input Productions with the help of Harry Sharpe . Lyrics
Between Those Two Doors written by -Randy Finchum and Joseph Mabalot It's a warm December day, been down this road before Time to go back home and say goodbye once more Another good friend of mine has seen his last day Pass the hospital where I was born Just a half a mile from that funeral home And then and there it dawned on me as I drove along The first one's the front door, second one's the back One you come into and one you go out When the good Lord calls you and it's your time to go And life is all the rooms in between Of a house where we're suppose to find out what it means To really love, then we'll know what we're here for And we only have a short time....between those two doors I pulled into that parking lot greeted by tears From friends and family that I ain't seen for years Then I walked into that funeral home, and felt a wave of sorrow Remembering all the times I said I come see him tomorrow That hospital's the front door, funeral home's the back One you come into and one you go out When the good Lord calls you and it's your time to go And life is all the rooms in between Of a house where we're suppose to find out what it means To really love, then we'll know what we're here for And we only have a short time....such a very very short time We only have a short time....between those two doors Between those two doors
