Welcome! I am a singer/songwriter of different styles of Christian and Country Music....Enjoy the message I bring, and may your heart be ministered to.
Hello! I'm very glad you stopped in to listen and visit. :) The message I carry is simply this...Jesus loves you and I do too. Hope you enjoy what you hear, and get a blessing from the music, as God does not give His people gifts to just set them upon the shelf, and never be used. I'm only as good as the Lord helps me to be, and I'm thankful for the blessings He has bestowed upon me. I'm NOT perfect, never claimed to be; but on the other hand, I have a message to minister in song, and I do that to the best of my ability. I fully realize there are many songs I demo here that don't fit my style/voice, but I can't run out and get a singer that fits everytime I write a song. :) What I write or cover comes from the heart. I've endured many hard trials in my life, and each one has, in one way or the other made its way into a song that others can relate to. All of my songs except for noted exceptions are free downloads. I'm not a professional by any means, nor am I interested in becoming one; and so the music is given away just as freely as the message was given to me. Story behind the song
This is one I wrote just a few days ago, just drew it out of the air with the impression that it was an encouraging song for someone..still don't have a clue, who it was/is. I also got instruction to ask Kurt Lewis Neufer to help me out with guitar work, as I couldn't do this by myself, not this time. :) He keeps surprising me with all the versatile styles he can come up with. And so, we pulled it together. :) The Bible says that we are to "put on the armor of the Lord" for we do have many battles to fight, but He's there to help us when we need it...in our greatest need. Hope you enjoy listening, and that this song will minister as much to you as it did to me while I wrote and worked it out, with the Lord's help. :D
Lyrics
Written by Tammy Swindell 01/08 This journey is so long, You're getting sore. And you don't think that You can take it, anymore. In the fighting you've already done, Don't think you haven't won Many battles in the past, Though the war has just begun. Put your faith and trust in Him That'll see you through, Especially when you don't know What to do. He will help you overcome, Pray the Word, it will be done Reach out and claim your victory, Through the power of His Son. (Chorus) (Chorus) Buckle on your Sword, Put on the Armor of the Lord All the pieces you will need are in His Word. Tighten up those shoes of peace, Though you won't be in retreat When it's strength you need, Ask, and you'll receive; Oh, the sky is the limit, If you'll only have faith and believe! Don't ever think that He Has let you down. He'll never leave nor forget you He's all around. In greatest need He'll meet you there, While you're on your knees in prayer. Deliverance in His time,(He grants) My friend, I have been there!

Tammy, This song is very, very beautiful. This arrangement is so lovely, and your singing is totally awe inspiring. Kurt Neufer to let me know bout it as one of the most beautiful songs that ever worked on and I agree. Me mom knows him from many years ago. We have his Christmas Dream album. His guitar playing is so different, unique and freshing. His Away In A Manger version is a part of our Christmas celebration. The guitar intro is so pretty, the German version is the best, the ending is fabulous. Also, his ELFY charactor is so cute. I just love his Ho Ho Ho. Ha ! Ha ! Cheers, Kristy

Tammy, I like the melody on the chorus on this one. Kurt's guitar and harmonica add some nice color and country accent. As usual, your lyrics are heaven-sent, and minister to the listener. Almost reminds me of early Olivia Newton-John! Super job achieving a positive, comforting feel and an uplifting, encouraging message. I am going to Iraq on Monday. Just a 3-week trip. Blessings, Johnny

Oh yeah, really hits the mark! Kurt's guitar and harp work caress the melody fluidly. Sounds so pretty. Extra special vocals and arrangement, once again your lyrics touched a nerve, thank you. (and thanks so much for the nice words!)
