What do you get when five childhood friends decide to expand their musical horizons beyond band class? In the case of SonKissed, a unique brand of Christian rock that is "actually fun to listen to." (Jay Pollard, VP of Shut Eye Records) Although the band first formed about a year earlier, SonKissed's current line-up has been playing together since 2001, combining a wide variety of influences and instrumentation with lead singer/acoustic guitarist Jordan Todd's thought-provoking, inspiring lyrics. The band has recorded ten originals for inclusion on their first studio album, For Your Cause, which is scheduled for a July 2004 release. Soon after the band solidified, they recorded demos of their songs in the basement where they practiced - demos that helped the band become IUMA.com's #1 Christian artist for over a month straight in the summer of 2003. SonKissed has already seen an even better reaction after two songs from For Your Cause - "Paint Me" and "Tomorrow" - were made available on several popular websites for free music. Just four days after the songs were posted to PureVolume.com, SonKissed climbed to the position of #1 unsigned Christian artist and "Tomorrow" rose to become the #1 song in the same category. Days later, "Tomorrow" beat out more than 580 other songs to become the #1 song of the week in the entire gospel/spiritual music category on Download.com, which helped carry the band to a #2 artist ranking in the genre of Christian rock. But make no mistake; this album is not just one hit and a bunch of filler. "Paint Me," the only other song from For Your Cause to be released thus far, has achieved rankings as high as #2 on Download.com, and #7 on both PureVolume.com and Amazon.com in the appropriate charts. The band has also made dents in the top ten of pop, rock, alternative and college/indie charts on various websites. The band's broad appeal can be partially accredited to their eclectic musicianship that blend elements of rock, jazz, and contemporary Christian into a unique acoustic-based style all their own. In addition to the guitar-bass-drums line-up of a typical rock band, several songs on For Your Cause feature multi-instrumentalist Aaron Todd putting down his electric guitar in favor of a saxophone ("You're My God", "Tomorrow") or mandolin ("We Are Not The Cure"), while keyboardist Adam Capps contributes his trumpet playing on "Hiding In Myself". The album also includes the intimate, emotional cuts "Forever Yours" and "Psalm 4:8," as well as the title track, a soaring rock anthem. Boasting a live repertoire of over twenty originals and several praise & worship songs, the young band stays busy playing shows across North Carolina whenever they can get away from school. Jordan, Aaron and Adam Capps all attend Western Carolina University and play in the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band, where Aaron displays his chops as the alto saxophone section leader. Drummer Sam Woodrum is entering his senior year at the high school where the band formed, and bassist Adam Fish is attending NC State University, where he has performed as a sideman for singer-songwriter A.C. Hill. In the past year, SonKissed has played everywhere from intimate coffeshops to arena settings for the NBDL's Fayetteville Patriots and the ECHL's Greenville Grrrowl, and have shared the stage with local and regional acts such as Building 429, needtobreathe, and Forever Changed. With a powerful new album in hand, SonKissed is poised to achieve even bigger things for His cause.

Lyrics
I want you to tell me Everything will be okay I'm right here waiting Stupified by what you say Although I've heard it At least a million times a day I keep on waiting Can this be the only way? Do I want to know? That you love me so Although I'm lacking Everything you offer me I'm tryin' so hard To be what you want me to be I'm dreading the struggle Things will never be the same I still hear you calling Out my name Do I want to know? That you love me so Do I want to know? That you love me so
