Mr. SS (Six-Figure Swag) is the newest edition of hot artists to come out of Atlanta and as the name implies, is swiftly moving through the streets of Lithonia and throughout the Atlanta Club scene with hits you can bump and ride to like “Top Let Back” and club bangers like" Rock Star Fresh" and “Red Monkey Jeans”. Mr. SS is moving to the top fast. Winning competition after competition at most of Atlanta’s open mics and showcases as well as already winning and recently being retired from Hot 107.9’s Battle Grounds (a ground breaking spotlight for new artist that airs daily on Atlanta’s Largest listener Hip-Hop station.), after it was obvious that their was no challenger that was going to knock him off his throne. If that’s not enough, he is also already doing shows on the big stage, performing during A-Town Day at the Morris Brown College Stadium, opening for headliners such as Jazze Phae, Purple Ribbon All-stars, and Grand Hustle’s own PSC, just to name a few. Of course, things haven’t always moved so fast for Mr. SS. He admits life hasn’t always been so easy. “Man me and my family been struggling our entire lives...to survive is a everyday grind... we grind hard” says SS. Many times music seems like the only way out for our young black youth when you are stuck in da trap. “This music shit is in my blood. My father was a big time Jamaican Dj back in the day by the name of King Phonics”. Born in New York, SS had to prove he was tough everyday to survive in Brooklyn. His family later moved to the eastside of Atlanta, where he was raised in Lithonia. However, things didn’t get any better. SS struggled to stay out of trouble, but eventually got caught up anyway. Now, at the young age of 20, Mr. SS has learned from all his mistakes. Although, he didn’t avoid the allure of the street game’s calling, he has escaped it (at least to date). “Numerous run-ins with the law will slow you down plenty when you out there trying to live that fast life and stack six figures, but wasting time sitting in a jail cell will help you realize not to take your freedom for granted”, says SS. “I learned to adapt my street hustle to da rap game and I ain’t looked back since”. This year SS, that is Mr. SS, is all grown up and concentrating his focus on hustlin’ his music. People everywhere are getting hooked. The appeal is his cocky attitude, d-boy street mentality, authentic style and of course, his Six-figure Swag hence the name S.S.. His music perfectly illustrates all that’s needed to ensure a multi-hit record album. Each song having a radio worthy sound and the essential Club-banging beats, topped off with easy to understand but a hard to reproduce complexity in the lyrics. His talent was noticed by Down & Dirty Records’ Manager/ CEO, William “Big Will” Bailey, who is working with SS now to further his career and develop him from ‘just another rapper’ to a true ‘artist’.
