Krucial, born Winston Hardy, was born and raised in Memphis, TN, on December 31, 1988. Growing up in Westwood, which was a suburb in the city, He was always determined to do great things! At the age of 12, he began to have a love for music! By the age of 15, He was writing full songs, hoping to one day be able to have an album. Krucial attended Riverdale Middle School, which was in Germantown. In 8th grade, he hooked up with a couple of his friends from school, and together they created a rap group called MastaMindz. At the time it seemed like the best thing that happened, but the group slowly began to dismantle. It seemed as though the members of the group weren't as dedicated to the music as well as they seemed, and they eventually went their seperate ways. Krucial was left by himself, but he didn't let that stop him from accomplishing his dreams. Along with the breaking up of the group, Krucial also had to deal with moving in the last 6 weeks of 8th grade, right before he graduated. Krucial had to move to Olive Branch, MS, where he would have to meet new friends, and start fresh. Although this would be a challenge for Krucial, he was ready for whatever obstacle was in store for him. Krucial started attending Olive Branch High in the fall of 2003! He was still fairly new to people because he just moved to Olive Branch in the 8th grade. Even this was a new start for Krucial, it would be one that he would capitalize on. Towards the end of his freshman year, he came in contact with a local artist/producer from his school, whom was referred to as "Icey Mike". Krucial was in a talent competition and he needed a beat for one the songs he had written. Icey Mike made a beat for him, and Krucial came in 1st place of the competition, and was asked to perform at a later date. The competition later was cancelled due to insufficient funds, but Krucial kept his relationship with Icey Mike. Icey Mike had his own record company, BrokeBoy Productions, that was slowly taking off, except for he needed the right artist to get things started. This was considered to be a blessing for Krucial, because he had been looking for someone that could help him make an album, and get his music out. Icey Mike eventually signed Krucial to his record label, because he saw potential in this young artist. During the summer of after Krucial's freshman year in high school, he hooked up with Icey Mike to make an album. In the fall of Krucial's sophomore year in high school, he was ready to release his first album entitled, "Main Attraction". There was a tv show called, "Quistor Voices", that came on everyday during school. This school news show made announcements about school activities and also played various well-known artists' music. Krucial talked to the producer of the show, Marc Lewis, to try to find out if Marc would give his song a shot on the show. Marc Lewis considered the idea and played his first single off the album, which was aslo called, "Main Attraction". After "Quistor Voices" went off that day, the school immediately went in a frenzy to purchase Krucial's new album! This was a new sound that the people weren't really use to, but they loved it! Krucial went on to sell over 200 units in the first week, and was also starting to create a name for himself, and also BrokeBoy Productions. Due to the success of "Main Attraction", Icey Mike and Krucial went back into the studio to make his follow-up album. It was the beginning of Krucial's junior year in high school, and he was in high demand. Krucial was approached by Marc Lewis about remaking the hit song, "Ain't No Sunshine", for an upcoming show of "Quistor Voices". Krucial accepted the offer and they remade the song and when Marc Lewis played it on the show, everyone wanted a copy of the song! Krucial also made a song for the basketball and football teams at Olive Branch. The football song was entitled, "Game Time", and the basketball song was called, "O.B. Run This". These songs featured Icey Mike, and another artist that was signed to BrokeBoy before Krucial, who was called "Yung Sipp". "O.B. Run This" created a buzz around the school, and they also shot a video for the song! By this time, BrokeBoy Productions had made the cover of two different newspapers in DeSoto County. They were on the cover of "The DeSoto Tribune", which is distributed to thousands of people in the DeSoto County area; and they were also in "The DeSoto Times". Before Krucial released his sophomore album in April, he was approached by a woman named Tiffany Harris. Tiffany Harris was the sponsor of a club at Olive Branch called Interact. Interact was a community service club that promoted "Service Above Self", and every year they held an annual fashion show in the high school gym. The fashion show was a guaranteed success for Interact, that was usually held at the end of April. Krucial was asked by Tiffany to host the fashion show, and also to perform. Of course Krucial accepted the offer, but he asked if Icey Mike and Yung Sipp could host and perform with him, and she agreed! The Interact Fashion Show that year went on to be arguably the best fashion show that Olive Branch has ever seen! Things were working out wonderful for Krucial. He made a lot of connections with individuals in a short period of time. Icey Mike and Yung Sipp would go on to graduate, and Krucial was left to take matters into his own hands, as far as the record label, and even the music. Krucial was determined to keep the fire burning, and that he did! Krucial started his senior year in high school during the fall of 2006, and this would be a year that would definitely be remembered. Krucial was asked by Marc Lewis to do another song, but this time it would be for the Olive Branch Football Team. This was a major opportunity because football was huge in Olive Branch because they have the No.2 team in the state! Krucial was shocked, but he did accept the offer! Krucial recorded the football song which was entitled, "Step Back". In the same week the song was recorded, Marc Lewis played the song on Quistor Voices for the school. Krucial had created the No.1 song in Olive Branch. Everyone loved the song, from football players and coaches, to the families that loved Olive Branch football. "Step Back" would go on to open doors for Krucial. He was asked by the Principal of Olive Branch, Kyle Brigance, to perform "Step Back" for an up-coming pep rally! By this time, Marc Lewis made a remix track to the hit song, and it was accompanied by a band. Krucial had a band of his own, Royalty, and they performed the remix track to "Step Back". That pep rally was said to be "The best pep rally Olive Branch has ever had!" Krucial was asked by the Booster Club of Olive Branch Football to make cd's with "Step Back" on them for the entire football team! He also sold cd's at the homecoming game. Around this time, Krucial had released his 3rd album, "Almost Famous". Krucial's status in Olive Branch became very high, and he would eventually be approached by Terie Sowell, who worked at Olive Branch Middle School. Terie wanted Krucial to perform at a talent show that was held by the school every year! Krucial accepted the offer and showed up with his band, and also with his closest friends, whom had rightfully been named, "The Circle". Krucial went on to check off yet another performance, and later was asked by Terie again to come perform at the 8th grade prom. Since Krucial had just released his album, the 8th grade prom was a great opportunity to get his new music out. The Circle would come to watch him perform, and also Yung Sipp was there to accompany him on a song they had done, called "Commando". The 8th graders loved the peformance, and Krucial was happy to send them home with a smile. One day at school, Krucial was approached by Mrs. Hicks and Mrs. Helmick, who were two english teachers that were over the prom. They wanted him to be the entertainment for the night. This was major for Krucial, so of course he accepted the offer. Krucial performed with Royalty, and also two singers, Selita Sykes and Jarvis "Master J" Cook. Master J had accompanied Krucial on a few tracks from Krucial's album. They did a song from the album called "Escape", which was a crowd favorite that night! Krucial several songs that night form his album including, "I Gotta Swag", "Commando", and even "Step Back"! Krucial's band even played a snippet of "Party Like The Rockstar", which, at the time, had just come out! Krucial and his prom date would go on to win prom king and queen that night. Krucial recieved several awards during his senior year, including "Class Beau", "Most Likely To Be Remembered", and even "Mr. Olive Branch High School". He also recieved "The Young Entreprenuer Scholorship Award" from Merril Lynch, a company in Jackson, MS. Krucial graduated from high school on May 26, 2007. Now-a-days, Krucial attends Jackson State University, in Jackson, MS. He still does songs for Olive Branch. He is currently working on his new album set to drop in late in early March 2008! He is determined to get a record deal with a major label someday. "I think its safe to say that we haven't seen the last of Krucial."
