Singer Songwriter
I am a singer,songwriter from Durham, North East England living in Edinburgh, Scotland and I have been writing songs for about 50 years. Influences include 60's,70's, and 80's singer songwriters, and ambient/ soundtrack music. My music is atmospheric, ambient, yet with a pop sensibility. I have performed in Belfast at the Belfast/Nashville Songwriters Festival on two occasions and also in Scotland, solo at Cabaret Voltaire, Haddington George Hotel with my friend Lindsey Mitchell. I am happy that here on Soundclick people are enjoying my songs, my most recent work is named Locations and I am currently producing new material.

Story behind the song
I decided to re-write this song. The title comes from a song I wrote in 1976, from an album called In the Midst of the World. I am currently re-recording the said album, to achieve a better quality of recording and to update some of the songs

Watching the Rain............. watching the rain falling down washing the dust from the pavement sky is grey in this little town who can say just what the future will send years and years are running by like celluloid before my eyes see my life from another view another raindrop hits the roof looking from the promenade I watch it falling on the waves see it sliding down in sheets left my raincoat home today they say the earth is warming up judging by the latest floods they say it could be true what is the consequence for me and you? there's a rainbow on the sea can you see any golden treasure where the spectrum hits the water and dissapears forever up till now rain always stops strangely now the sun is hot bright and bare, fully restored there's so much more we can explore arriving in the sunshine on my holiday sky is turning grey, the air is cool time has reached the time for new beginnings rain releases feelings, I'm feeling new watching the rain falling down it goes streaming through the gutter soon it ends as it began takes away a sense of clutter years and years are running by like celluloid before my eyes see my life from another view look the sky is turning blue.....blue blue.
