Story behind the song
Bobby selected a finished instrumental track from a great POP Space artist "Wired Ascention" for one of his lyrical pieces and I unified them with my structural vox interpretations.
Lyrics
You went underground with no resistance, For an eternity to escape your pain, And hide the scars of a troubled existence, Inflicted by a needle to your vein. In this field of mourning, summer winds blow cold, Misery clouds my mind with what could have been, A future together, now a life untold, Torn apart by a battle you couldn't win. But it's too late now Our love is undone, Lost in an endless high, But it’s too late now Our love is undone you couldn't deny, You were fixing to die, fixing to die. The dust has settled, you're alone in the dark, With all your secrets safe from the light of day, While I'm on the streets hiding my old track marks, From dealers promising to take my pain away. But it's too late now Our love is undone, Lost in an endless high, But it’s too late now Our love is undone you couldn't deny, You were fixing to die, fixing to die. Every now and then you get under my skin, Your bony fingers slowly working their way in, Frantically searching for one final hit, Unaware your death gave me the strength to quit… to quit. But it's too late now Our love is undone, Lost in an endless high, But it’s too late now Our love is undone Cause you couldn't deny, You were fixing to die, fixing to die….you were fixing to die!
