Story behind the song
While looking at a photo of Dawn Diamond on the shore, the melody seemed to come out fo no where and I visualized to two people on a beach, in a dream...
Lyrics
(Instrumental Intro) Page 1 (Female Vocal) I saw it in a dream, so real, I was standing there, with the wind blowing through my hair, And what a lovely day, it seemed, With sounds of the ocean and the waves swirling round my feet, And then I turned and I saw him standing there, He was like an angel with his golden hair, How I’d love to see the color of his eyes, And then he turned and smiled, And that took me by surprise. (Instrumental Break) And then, I awoke from sleep, Oh how I wonder how a dream could seem so real to me, And I remember how I saw him there, Just like an angel with his golden hair, Oh what a handsome lad that he appeared to be, Oh, how I wonder how a dream could seem so real to me, (Instrumental Break) Page 2 (Male Vocal) I saw it in a dream, so real, She was standing there with the wind blowing through her hair, And what a lovely day, it seemed, With sounds of the ocean and the waves swirling round her feet, And then she turned and she saw me standing here, (or there) She was like an angel with her golden hair, Oh that curious look, I could see it in her eyes, And then I turned and smiled, (And) that took her by surprise. (Instrumental Break) And then, I awoke from sleep, Oh how I wonder how a dream could seem so real to me, And I remember how I saw her there, Just like an angel with her golden hair, And what a lovely lass that she appeared to be, Oh how I wonder how a dream could seem so real to me. (Instrumental Break) Page 3 (Male and Female Vocal) (Female) And now that lovely dream has come true, And I am so happy, and I just can’t get enough of you, (Male) And there is nothing that I’d rather do, Than spend all my time just growing old with you (Female) How I love to have you hold me in your arms, And I love to have you there at night to keep me warm, (Female and Male) There is nowhere that I would rather be, You are my true love, The one who was in my dreams.. (Instrumental End)

Very nice. Congrats to the two of you. Sounds and feels like a good folk song from the 70's.

So beautifully written and performed, from the start Dawns vocals (yours as well!) capture the magic, and together have both created something very special here. Really sweet guitar work to carry the piece as well.
