Story behind the song
We all must face that final harvest some day
Lyrics
THE CROP You can sow your seeds in secret, But you won’t get what you expect. History can safely predict You’ll reap ragged weeds of regret. You stop to camouflage your field, But the crop cannot be concealed. So many seeds, So little time. Your hunger feeds On petty crime. It’s harvest time Down on the farm. Pay for your crime; Undo your harm. Everybody knows You pay as you go; You reap what you sow. Step down from your tractor of sin; God knows where that bad actor’s been. Even the Grim Reaper will grin As he gathers your last crop in. You stop to camouflage your field, But the crop cannot be concealed. No matter how you wheel and deal, Your folly will still be revealed. So many seeds, So little time. Your hunger feeds On petty crime. It’s harvest time Down on the farm. Pay for your crime; Undo your harm. Everybody knows You pay as you go; You reap what you sow. You can sow your seeds in secret, But you won’t get what you expect. History can safely predict You’ll reap ragged weeds of regret. You stop to camouflage your field, But the crop cannot be concealed. No matter how you wheel and deal, Your folly will still be revealed. Step down from your tractor of sin; God knows where that old plow has been. Even the Grim Reaper will grin As he gathers your last crop in. You reap what you sow. Copyright © 2007 Lex Zaleta
