Story behind the song
Whale recording by Kent Noonan, All other noises are made by Michael Duran, on guitar synth, and Steve Layman, on Keyboard Synth
Lyrics
The whale songs used in this piece were taken from a much longer recording called "Kalama Lullaby" recorded by Kent Noonan. Here is Kents' desciption; "I saw a large male singing while I recorded nearby. He was slowly swimming in a large circle under a mother and baby. He went in a circle perhaps 100 yards across at a rate of about 15 minutes to go around it, about 50 to 100 feet down. This is the recording I call "Kalama Lullaby" because it seemed he was making a cradle of sound for the mother and baby to feel protected in, while they snuggled on the surface in the sun"

Wonderful creative song Michael & friends, the whale songs are so enlightening and spiritual you have done a fantastic job highlighting the beautiful music & songs of these humble beings...LLP..~ES~ The sun was in clouds. The sun looked out. Exposed a trail of mist and spouts. Ships followed the ancient lead. Deceiving friends under the sea. Wow, imagine that? They won't fight back. I got a theory on that. A whale's heart is as big as a car. A whaler's thought must be smudged by the dark. They won't fight back. I'm sure they know how. Beings that love are too proud. They won't fight back. I'm sure they know how. Beings that love are too proud. They swim. It's really free. It's a beautiful thing to see. They sing. Hunters of land. Hunters of sea. Exploit anything for money. I refer to anybody that takes advantage of what that is free. They won't fight back. It's only a thought that makes it seem right. What you don't see is because of your sight. Take what you want.

This is quite a psychedelic experience in a way - amazing blend of sounds. Definitely a track to sit and absorb and chill out to. Unusual, and totally captivating.

Very creative fusion of guitar effects and nature sounds with a techno edge. Sounds like that guitar could summon some whales all on its own. I've always liked to hear whales sing. The tricky part is getting them in the recording studio. :D BILL

What an original masterpiece! You've created an amazing duet with the whale. I wish there was a ay to rate originality on here, because this song would be off the chart. Breathtakingly beautiful my friend.

What a fantastic "collaboration", a real knock you sideways track this one, I love it. I've rated "lyrics and vocals" on the basis that the whale is "singing".
