Christ centered songs written by Dan Simmons...the best Gospel and inspirational A.I. music on the internet!
"firesong" is the songwriting ministry of Dan Simmons Thanks for stopping by. It's my desire to faithfully share that which has been given to me. This website will be a sampling of recordings that I, along with family and friends, have done over past 45 years. There are over 600 original unpublished songs presented in demo form on this site. Special thanks go to my partners in music, my daughter Amber, son Ian and the guys of Single Heart (Gene, Bob, Chris, Marty and Tata) who joined me to sing praises to the Lord down through the years. I also wish to thank those co-writers and artists that have joined with me in developing new music the passed few years to share on this website. I'm now featuring AI (Artificial Intelligence) groups that I've developed to sing some of the songs. I hope it's evident to everyone... that though the melodies and harmonies, styles and singers may change... JESUS has always been and will always be...the Song! ...this music is one simple expression of a very thankful heart. (Dan is a retired firefighter and ordained minister)

Written with Chris Baker...we took two different songs and combined them into one...a little bit country and a little bit rock 'n roll
Lyrics
I was throwing my life away sewing to the wind and reaping it everyday Playing music and trying to find an outward cure for an inward state of mind Feeling like a stranger to myself...blaming my cares on someone else Then I heard the voice of Jesus deep inside Said I wanna live in the heartland The heartland of your soul I wanna work... the fertile fields Where truth can live and grow There is a part ...of every heart... The measure of a man You can only see... what a man can be... When you’re walkin’ Walkin’ in the heartland You’ve been livin’ in the world so long It’s hard to tell what’s right and what is wrong Livin’ in a land of foolish pride Lookin’ for a friend in who you can confide You’re walkin’ down a road that leads nowhere Lookin’ for a friend who’d really care Listen to the voice of Jesus deep inside Just let Him live in the heartland The heartland of your soul Let Him work the fertile fields Where truth can live and grow There is a part... of every heart...the measure of a man You can only see what a man can be... When you’re walkin’ Walkin’ in the heartland (instrumental) There in the heartland the soil is rich and the water is sweet The River of Life feeds every stream And faith’s always growing....when you reap where He’s sewing The heartland is where He’ll meet your need Just let Him live... in the heartland The heartland of your soul Let Him work... the fertile fields Where truth can live and grow There is a part... of every heart...the measure of a man You can only see... what a man can be When you’re walkin’ Walkin’ in the heartland Walkin’ in the heartland Walkin’ in the heartland...
