From the Dutch musical 'Liefde in Zeeburg" (Love in a small town at the seaside). This musical had many succesful performances in 2004 in Amsterdam.
A policeman ' lieutenant Tefka' complains that he cannot solve every problem in the 'jungle out there', the streets of Amsterdam. If he had the time, he would escort every old lady to the other side of the street, speak strong words to juvenile criminals, and locate every stolen bike. But, unfortenately, he can not improve the world by himself alone, so crime will stay, and his salary could be better too.
