A love song recorded with the South Wales band POD in a session donated by Carl of 60 Foot Dolls fame. It was produced by Greg Haver who has worked with The Manics, Catatonia, Super Furry Animals and many more!

Eclectic singer/songwriter and a great acoustic live performer. A compere, poet and author too!
The Bard of Ely was signed to Crai Records (the label where Catatonia began) as frontman for TAFFIA and an EP was released which included his songs 'Harvest Home' and 'You're a Liar, Nicky Wire.' Bard of Ely is a singer/songwriter, poet, compere, and a real ordained Celtic Bard being a member of the Gorsedd of Bards of Caer Abiri and also Principal Bard of The Traveling Court of Camelot (the musical wing of the druid order). The Bard is also the author of Herbs of the Northern Shaman (Loompanics). Bard of Ely has had his music broadcast worldwide on the radio and has appeared countless times on TV too. He was the co-presenter of a series called 'In Full View' on BBC Choice.

Story behind the song
It was motivated by seeing a girl singer called Sue trying her best to sing in a noisy bar where the crowd seemed more interested in talking and getting drunk and it just seemed so unfair because she was so good! It's a comment on the music business too. The picture is of the late Janice Pugsley who was a singer/songwriter and gifted artist who recently passed away and I know she liked this song and the sentiments it expresses. It seems fitting to use Janice's image here as a tribute and in her memory.
Lyrics
I first saw you standing in the spotlight Standing lovely, lonely on that cold night I saw you singing, singing through the moonlight I saw you sparkle, I saw you sparkle bright I saw you there singing your heart out I saw you singing through the clamour of these fools And you delivered something special On that special night Now I can see you and I can hear you You're not alone in the wilderness You're not alone in this sea of madness You're not alone in the music biz Girl singer, where are you now? I need to find you across this crowded city I need to find you across these desperate bars I need to find you through the halls and clubs of loneliness I need to find you on the road of falling stars I need to find you through all the teeming millions I need to find you through electric storms and dark I need to find you through all our crazy pathways I need to find you from right across the world Girl singer, where are you now On the road of falling stars?
