Greetings musicians and listeners , we are Man At The Window - Scotland's own Reggae writing and production team. Gerry Coogan & Kyle Robertson, both born in Glasgow during the swinging sixties, started working together in 1980 and after a wee hiatus to raise a couple of families of reggae-ites, have recently got together again to write and record the "Revelations" album. Now, having completed the initial demo recordings, we are looking for backing to release this reggae album beyond our independent limitations.

Story behind the song
This track is Man At The Window's manifesto! The MATW mission statement! When we first played the Nottinghill Carnival we decided to introduce ourselves at the start of the set with a medley of the favourite rhythms and hits of the period by way of establishing our credentials. The medley was well received so we gradually replaced all the covers with material we'd written ourselves. Now we see this track as our signature tune. It constantly evolves, and we replace sections of it with new material on a regular basis. It also serves as an honourable retirement home for parts of songs that we no longer want to play in their entirety! Even its official title changes from gig to gig - it's been "The Windowman Posse", "The 1984 Overture" and "Naughty Bill The Carnivore" - although it's usually referred to as "The Big Medley" by the band. If you don't like this, you don't like us, so we really hope you dig it. JahLove: ~Gerry+KyleMATW 2007.
Lyrics
Rock Steadily Midnight Medley I We are dubwise, we are style, and all ya kinds of thing. We bring a music and a rhythm within, Make ya wanna jump and sing, Sing it like the Windowman posse, The Windowman style, the Windowman fashion, ooh. There’s a music in the country, rhythm in the town, A Windowman check out what goes down, With a keyboard, guitar, the drum and the bass, It’s our intention to mash up the place. The Windowman posse in a Windowman style, In a Windowman fashion, ooh, ooh, ooh. To the Windowman posse in a rub-a-dub, rub-a-dub style. We sing for the man and the woman in love. We sing to lift our spirits up. We sing for the people who dance on the floor, Sing as we feel then we sing some more. II If you wanna shout and a jump about, It’s completely natural. D’you wanna raise your voice, make a lot of noise, It’s completely natural. We’re on a mission to share these rhythms with you all, No inhibitions stop you feeling Completely natural. Natural. Natural. III Maybe I should give you some of my loving, baby I know I should, I know I could, sweet, sweet loving. It’s time to make it up again. I know I should, I know I could, sweet, sweet loving Woh, woh, woh, I know you like a lover’s rock now baby Make some moves and shake and groove and let us dance on the floor like we used to do Forever midnight, forever loving you. Forever midnight, forever loving you. Natural. Natural.
