Lisa does a fine job with the vocals, and I had a lot of fun playin' the pipe. This is the all new electric hybrid version of German Car for the 21st century (remixed in 2004.)

Jim-n-Lisa play electronic, acoustic, world/new age, jazz, rock, and other styles; sometimes, all at once.
I'm not going to blow smoke up your nether regions, pretending to be some other person saying how great Jim-n-Lisa are. Originality and high quality productions are important to us. Please judge for yourself. We hope you find something enjoyable. Hi, I'm Jim. This music is created in my computer based studio. I play electric, acoustic, and bass guitars, keyboards, flute, saxes, Wx7 wind controller, electronic drums, and I've been doing some singing of late. The performance/recording technique is improvisational and mostly recorded in real time, one track at a time by me. Lisa sings and creates most of her own vocal melodies and harmony lines. Thanks for listening, - Jim

Story behind the song
A friend's wife loved her Beamer more than life itself. Shallow? Duh.
Lyrics
I must drive this lovely German car, Out of this heap of stone and steel and flesh, We call the city. So I drive for hours and hours, 'Til I can see the stars, And the pressure on my psyche lifts, And I am free. I rise above the beast in my nature, To embrace the higher road, But there's little in my favor, And I'm starting to feel old. So I drive for hours and hours, 'Til I can see the stars, And the pressure on my psyche lifts, And I am free. I must drive this lovely German car, Out of this heap of stone and steel and flesh, We call the city. I'm watching the chessboard of monoculture trees, Dancing by my window in the moonlight, Is it really (ours? hours? I'll leave the ambiguity in tact, thank you.) I will rise above the beast in my nature, And I will take the higher road, If only I can drive my German car. This lovely German car, Makes me feel like I belong here, on this highway, this lonely highway. Drive my car.
