D. Parrish / Songwriter
Born in Edina, Missouri, I was raised on traditional country music from all of the good ole boys. It was always Jones, Haggard, Williams, Acuff, Tubb, and the rest. Sundays at grandpas' house was an all day affair of good home cooking and music. Grandpa played his harmonica and juice harp, Dad played guitar, Uncle Lindsey played guitar and fiddle, and everybody sang. Those were the days that developed my interest in music. Especially country music. "Is there any other kind? "I began playing guitar when I was twelve years old, and started writing music at eighteen or so. I played drums in high school and eventually gave them up to focus on my guitar. I am strickly a songwriter type guitar player. The song "Nobodys' Fool", currently playing on my site, was written in 1999 originally. I rewrote it in 2001 and the finished product is what you hear today. I especially want to pay my gratitude to Jason Brian Adams for a truly great production of the song. That is him singing and playing. Without Jason, this song would not have come to life. I am most indebted to him for his efforts and talents. Thanks Jason, so much.
I also want to thank my father for keeping the music tradition alive. He still plays at 80 years old, as does my older brother Doug.
Thanks to all of you listeners that have given me positive response and very kind words on "Nobodys' Fool". I respect all of the opinions received.
To all of the songwriters out there, KEEP ON WRITING!!
