Groove oriented pop/rock with powerful vocals!
Groove oriented pop/rock with powerful vocals this chick can SING! Allison performs with a gritty, soulful edge. Since the age of 6, when she used to wear t-shirts that read "Future Rock Star" and sing for anyone who would listen - Allison had a pretty good idea that music would somehow become a big part of her life. Allison started performing at a young age in musical theater, where her dynamic stage presence was first nurtured. Her endeavors would eventually find her touring around the country with various shows and even cruising the Caribbean as a showgirl, headpieces and all! Throughout all of her performing experience, Allison found herself most successful with pop/rock music. She was always composing songs and started collaborating with other musicians. Her songwriting developed over time while appearing with many local bands. As a result, she was able to start working as a session singer for NYC songwriters - both up and coming, and established writers such as Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi. Learning from musicians around her, Allison was able to develop as a songwriter. Influenced by artists such as Jonatha Brooke, Sheryl Crow, Ani DiFranco and other 'chick rockers' Allison quickly developed her own songwriting style. Compared to other “chicks with guitars” Allison’s sound stands out as melodic and vibrant. With the addition of her incredibly talented band members, she has been able to create an even more rock driven sound for her music. Performing frequently in and around NYC, Allison has quickly become a recognizable part of the indie music scene. She is an active member of Indiegrrl and GoGirls Music, and was recently selected by UMO Music to be featured on their Best NYC Singer/Songwriters of 2003 CD. She is a powerful, vibrant artist who needs to be heard.
