The third in a series of birthday tributes to my wife! This one harkens back to the days when we ate salad and read the New York Times on a futon.
The music is original, creative and from the heart. I hope you have as much fun listening as I had making it. Thanks for tuning in. Keep fighting the good fig
'Perfusion' is the moniker for this one-man musical juggernaut. I record all of my own material in the basement, after the kids are asleep! One track has a female backing vocal but all the rest is just l'il ol me. About 2/3 of the songs were done using Studio One - 3 and ProTools computer based software and the others on the Boss BR 1180 free-standing workstation.
In 2015 and 2016, string orchestra pieces I wrote were features in the season with the Turtle Creek Chamber Orchestra. In 2011 I was honored to receive the Janesville Arts Council People's Choice Award for Outstanding CD/Song for "I Married the Prom Queen"...
Story behind the song
Every year I write a song for my wife. She beckons the best of my musical creativity!
Lyrics
I Look at You
When the road winds on and it’s miles to you,
And the cold sharp wind, runs me through,
When the silence grows to a mighty roar,
And I long to fly where eagles soar,
When the world’s heart bleeds and it spins too fast,
And the peace breaks off, I thought would last,
I just look at you, as you grace the day,
And dream the broken night away,
I look at you, I feel the heat, I feel the love, I feel complete,
I run to you, I feel alive, I feel the yearning deep inside,
I look at you, I see the pride, I see the fire in your eyes,
I run to you, I see the child, I see an angel in the wild,
And I see the city lights aglow,
Heard that playful laugh ten years ago,
And the one that caught my eye back then,
Steals my heart all over again,
And I think it through, it seems so clear,
How nice it is to have you here,
And it’s late at night, we’re getting tired,
I’ve never felt so awe-inspired,
I look at you,
I run to you,
I look at you,
I run to you,
