Recorded at home. Tune for the troops and their loved ones.
Just me playing some acoustic folk tunes
Hello. My name is Paul Heath. I'm a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer (submarine type) who is just trying to get a few tunes heard. Hope you like it!
Story behind the song
Written when my son was part of the first invasion of Iraq. Didn't hear from him for over a month and I was a bit worried. He is now safe and sound, but I still play this song to remember all of the young men and women around the world who are serving their country. God Bless and Godspeed!
Lyrics
A Father’s Prayer
Where is that boy of mine, Is he safe from harm,
Is he strong as he fights along, When will he come home?
Can he feel our prayers for him, Can he hear me when I say,
I’m so proud but I’m so scared, be careful in every way
Keep your head up, and watch your back
Never falter, never fail
Keep your eyes on the Stars and Stripes
And know we will prevail
Where is that boy of mine, It was not so long ago,
He was just a boy who played with his toys, and now he’s off fighting the war
Where is that boy of mine, He has grown into a man
Proudly serving with all of his heart, to help protect this great land.
Keep your head up, and watch your back
Never falter, never fail
Keep your eyes on the Stars and Stripes
And know we will prevail, we will prevail
Where is that boy of mine, Is he safe from harm,
Is he strong as he fights along, When will he come home?
Won’t you hurry and come back home.
