I once had the opportunity to meet Mr. Elliot Easton on a guitar website and I promised myself I would try to do a Caresque tune. I took my inspiration from "My Best Friend's Girlfriend". Now that the song is done I have realized it does not sound like The Cars, but who cares--- after all the work I had to put it up here. I tried to add synthetizers and more vocals, but I just could not do it. As usual I have come with rather cheezy stupid lyrics.
Lyrics
The love was in her eyes
The love was in her mind
She used to love me with passion and tenderness
The life that we enjoyed
The things that we once shared
She used to love me with passion and tenderness
Looking at the photograph
Thinking of the day
Remembering the time
When we were side by side every day and night
Now the time has come
I know I will not survive
She used to love me with passion and tenderness
New love is on her sight
New love is on her mind
She used to love me with passion and tenderness
Hey this is a pleasant song. So don't worry. I see what you mean about not sounding like The Cars. Sometimes songs do come out differently to how they're first planned. Maybe it needs to have a bit more of a Fender Telecaster ? chuggy/slightly overdriven guitar sound to get closer to The Cars sound. And perhaps a quicker tempo ? but this is a nice song as it is. And I hope you take my comments as they are intended, and not in any way as a critisism.
