My Band? I live in Southern Louisiana in bayou country. I guess you could call my band "bayou self" as I have no band.......STOP....Let me update!! I now have a band and we are playing festivals and events locally. I have indeed been blessed to meet such wonderful people. We are a five piece with myself on guitar and vocals. Kevin Benoit on guitar and vocals. His wife Donna Benoit on vocals. Kevin Bergeron on bass and Larry Franks on Drums. We've been gigging since August 07 and are available for Christain Music events in and around the New Orleans area. I also have a brand new CD just released entitled Are You Listening? All of the cuts are produced by Pershing Wells, a talented local musician/writer/engineer/recordist, etc., who practices his craft here in Houma. It is available at www.mikecape.com or http://cdbaby.com/cd/michaelcape

Story behind the song
The promise of a new life to come is what motivated the writing of this song. I borrowed from Ecclesiastes as well as Paul to set the contrast between what is now and what is to come. We are destined to struggle in this world. Christ is the bridge to the next where the struggle is over.
Lyrics
Coming Home Michael Cape© 2005 Looked around on this earth, and this I see How one man sows, another reaps All is in the wind, all is vanity No matter how much you have, It’s not enough to set you free Lord when this life is through I’ll be coming home to You No more sorrow, no more pain Your love will take me home again I find this work in me to be true The good things I do not, the bad I do The flesh is a slave to sin, He’ll set your spirit free I’m looking to you oh Lord To light Your fire in me Lord when this life is through I’ll be coming home to You No more sorrow, no more pain Your love will take me home again My race is run, my fight is won, My life’s not done as I’ll live with the Son My Lord draw near my ear can hear His voice so clear saying have no fear I will sing praises to my King for the life He brings, death has no sting So sing with me now we all are free As He holds the key to eternity Lord when this life is through I’ll be coming home to You No more sorrow, no more pain Your love will take me home again
