The Best Is Yet To Come

One of our wilder tunes, inspired by the book 'The Best Is Yet To Come' by Pastor John H. Kieschnick. A must read for any child of God! Thanks Fred Shetz, for a great mix!

Story behind the song
I was inspired to write this song after reading the forward and 1st chapter of the book "The Best Is Yet To Come" which was written by our great senior pastor, John Kieschnick. It's amazing that such a wild song could be inspired by one of the mildest, humble men I have ever met. Thanks pastor K! Keep preaching and I'll keep stealing your ideas!
Lyrics
Jesus, You're knocking at my door I'm very scared but I need more Though it's nice and comfy on this pew There are greater things for me and You 'Cause I'm tired of myself and my safe religion It's time for me to make a grave decision And bury this old man deep in a hole 'Cause I'm sick and tired of the mediocre And running from imaginary ogres So I'll open up this door and just hang on The best is yet to come! I hear You knocking come right in Though my knees are shaking for what I've been Come fan these embers into flames Renew the fire that burned again (Repeat Chorus) Come take control Come take it all Come and make everything I am Your own (Guitar Solo) 'Cause I'm sick and I'm tired of these robes of tatters It's time for me to live a life that matters So I'll open up this door and just hang on The best is yet to come! Credits: Recorded at Sound Foundations Engineered & Mixed by Fred Shetz Lead Vocals - David Smith Background Vocals - Tami & David Smith All Guitars & Bass - David Smith Drums - Siggy Baldersun
