Story behind the song
Everyone wants to see the better side of things and a Rainbow after the rain is always encouraging.
Lyrics
There’s a child, Face scared from the fire So why are kids making fun of him He only wants to be a little boy. Wants to play, instead he looks out the window Others stare, pointing at him like kids do He says to you How I long to see a rainbow, after the rain The colors of the Heavens, camouflage the pain Could there really be a pot of gold, waiting at the end For now I’ll go on dreaming, Its raining once again There’s a Lady, on the corner with a cardboard sign asking help from you Just enough to feed her baby girl But we act, like we don’t even notice or we’re late Or we’ve got too much to do To spare a dime or two How I long to see a rainbow, after the rain The colors of the Heavens, camouflage the pain Could there really be a pot of Gold, waiting at the end For now I’ll go on dreaming, Its raining once again Oh I went to see that little boy You can’t believe his smile Our children played for hours He was normal for a while But Maggie she still sits and waits Please help me and my child I turned and saw a rainbow, after the rain The colors of the Heavens, camouflage the pain No, I don’t need no pot of Gold, our treasures lie within For now I’ll go on dreaming, The Son will rise again
