Story behind the song
May1,2000 I was setting up a sound system for a childrens theatre group and bent down to pick up something . I never saw the antennae that was sticking up. It pierced my lower eyelid damaging the cranial nerves that are behind my eye. In essence it turned my eye off in a fraction of a second. I had to learn to cope in a right sighted world. I was unable to work at my normal job so I just hung out at home with the kids.. Which I really enjoyed..But still had time for a lot of self pity.My wife suggested we go to a church around the corner.The kids were involved with a few activities there, So I said ok. Well We started going to this contemporary service. I was amazed at the music.. I didn't know any of the songs but liked how they sounded and what they were saying..So I started listening to more of these songs , going to the service and reailzing that the really important things were there all along.. My love for my Family.... Who gave me incredible support...The foundation of friends..and the grace of God.....BTW ... I have about 85 to 90 % use of my eye.. Hmmmmmm
