No hype. No bullshit. (Well, SOME bullshit, but no hype): Words and music by Jim Parker.
I've been called a lot of things since I first climbed onto a stage with a guitar in my hands and butterflies in my stomach, but the one word that seems to fit best (and miss the mark least) is this one: songwriter. In fact, that's the one I use to describe myself as a performer, too -- especially after I hit a sour note in a vocal or blow a guitar lick, or otherwise need to extricate my ego from my performance in front of an audience. Whenever that happens, I just shrug it off as best I can, and remind anyone who needs reminding of the truest musical fact about me that I know: "I'm not a musician. I'm a songwriter."

Lyrics
I woke up this morning to an alarm in my head. If I'd have been in it, I might've just stayed in bed. My throat was sure dry, and my eyes were sure red. Guess I'd been sleepin' with Jose, and not you, instead. I'm only missing a few memories and maybe a ring. But I discovered something true, and that should count for something. So I'll pass it along for any help it might bring: Tequila goes with everything. It goes with cold pizza and dry Cheerios. Doritos and Cheetos? It goes great with those. It's a breakfast of champions, an elixir of kings. Tequila goes with everything. It'll get you past disaster. It'll ease you through woe. I'd tell you how it works but, fact is, I don't know. But it's cheap and it's fast, and it strikes like lightning. Tequila goes with everything. It'll help you remember things you'd rather forget. It'll show you the lighter side of your deepest regrets. It's a preacher and a teacher, to defeat your suffering. Tequila goes with everything.
