Contemporary music with a message...
The beginning of this work goes back to the late '90s. Although a believer since 1983, I had allowed sin to once again rule my life with devastating results. Having come to my senses, I fell on my face and sincerely asked God to give me one more chance to be the man that He wanted me to be. God heard my prayer and began doing a serious work inside of me, one that I was finally willing to let Him do. Today I am a substantially different man, one who has begun to learn the value of abiding in Christ every day. To know Jesus Christ and to live openly and honestly before Him and other men is the focus of my life now. I hope that these songs somehow express that. It is my prayer that they will bring blessing, encouragement and healing to others like myself who love the Lord and are still in the battle against personal sin. We have a great Savior and He makes us... Free Indeed! God bless... Dale J. Mayer and , two great places to spend some time.

Story behind the song
I recently ran across the first recording I ever tried to make on my computer. It was May 21, 2004 and I wanted to record a song that I had written after a very serious conversation with the Lord one night. I plugged a cheap Karaoke mic into my computer and gave it a go. The result was, well... less than impressive. I still wanted to record, so after several months of research, experimentation, and hair pulling my sister Cindy and I finally put together a decent home studio. This track begins with a 40 second excerpt from that first meager recording attempt and then fades to the result of our efforts to do something better. The song still ministers to me today the same as the night I had that talk with Jesus. I hope that it will be a blessing to others as well.
Lyrics
GRACE (a conversation with the Lord) Copyright ©2004 by Dale Mayer All Rights Reserved Verse 1 (me) Lord, I’ve failed again… I gave in to that same old sin. Sometimes it gets the best of me… How I want to be free… I want to be free… I want to be free… Verse 2 (The Lord) My son, I hear your prayer. Of this thing, I am not unaware. The price that I paid for you,… it will cover this too. You see,... My grace is sufficient for you. Every morning, my mercies are new. And there’s just one more thing that I want you to know… My son,… I still love you. Verse 3 (me again) Lord, I don’t know what to say. Your love takes my breath away. Your grace is sufficient for me… while I wait to be free… I wait to be free… I wait to be free… Chorus (The Lord) My grace is sufficient for you. Every morning, my mercies are new. And there’s just one more thing that I want you to know… My son,… I still love you. Verse 4 (The Lord) So, My son, don’t be afraid… and don’t be discouraged today. Remember the battle is mine… and you will see victory in time. Until then,... My grace is sufficient for you. Every morning, my mercies are new. And there’s just one more thing that I want you to know… My son,… I still love you. Chorus (The Lord) My grace is sufficient for you. Every morning, my mercies are new. And there’s just one more thing that I want you to know… My son,… I still love you. I said,… My son,… I still love you. You are… My son… and I love you.
