Story behind the song
Táimse Im’ Chodladh & Galway Bay Hornpipe: The first title means “I am asleep” and this beauitiful air was written in eighteenth century Munster by an unknown composer. A beautiful lady (personifying ireland) appears to the poet in a vision (aisling) to encourage resistance. The second title is a delightful hornpipe which oldest source dates back to 1903
