Story behind the song
I wrote this tune for a pagan festival I was taking part in, it expanded into a whole album of pagan tunes.
Lyrics
Song for the Moon This is a song for the moon She's a coy one with just a shoulder showing Shell kiss the ground and where she does The ground will then be good for growing Everywhere shes glowing all around A silver sliver Crimson blush A maid in springtime As the fields Grow green and lush Oh lie lie lie lie lie song for the moon This is a song for the moon Draped in earths own shadow A fertile beauty, belly showing Shes a shy one ever knowing Shows her face and then she must be going A silver dollar Shining bright A sacred mother Of all others In her light Oh lie lie lie lie lie song for the moon This is a song for the moon With her wisdom shining Shes a traveler through the night and day And as she wanes shell kiss the sweet grass she disappears but never goes away A silver sickle Orange gem A crone at harvest As the season Turns again Oh lie lie lie lie lie song for the moon
