COME LIVE WITH ME is pure rock n roll.
Jim Colyer Band is a free-wheeling, ever-changing thing. Members come and go. The one constant is my catalog of songs. I do some of the lead vocals but employ females as I write lots of girl songs.
Story behind the song
I got into younger women in my 50s. Living on the Vanderbilt campus, I was seeing all these young things strutting along city sidewalks. It affected my writing.
Lyrics
She was walking down the sidewalk
Her long hair streaming behind
So young and beautiful
The kind of girl I never could find
The wind blew her skirt up
That's when she blew my mind
She straightened up her nylons
Strong legs carry her weight
Carry me, pretty mamma
Piggyback through heaven's gate
Come home with me
Show me it's never too late
Come Live With Me
Baby, you can change my life
Come Live With Me
We'll make love all night
Baby baby baby baby
Baby, gonna do it right
solo
She was walking down the sidewalk
Her arms swinging by her side
Swing me, pretty mamma
Shoulder me and let me ride
A modern day Travolta
A woman with a manly stride
Come Live With Me
Baby, you can drive me wild
Come Live With Me
Baby, you can drive me wild
Baby baby baby baby
Baby, you can drive me wild
solo
She was walking down the sidewalk
Hot stuff struttin' away
She heard me call
Turned around and started my way
I saw that cleavage
And, man, it made my day
Come Live With Me
Baby, you can change my life
Come Live With Me
We'll have sex all night
Baby baby baby baby
Baby, gonna do it right
Come Live With Me
Come Live With Me
Come Live With Me
Come Live With Me
