A southern rock song about second chances
I'm an amateur lyric writer who has been posting my lyrics on various songwriter boards for the past few years. Every now and then someone offers to put music to one of my lyrics. Since I don't sing or play any instruments these collaborations are the only way my work can be heard. This is a collection of some of these songs. You'll see they are in a couple of different genres.

Lyrics
Highway Ghosts Highway Straightaway 'til sunset Stretching on coast to coast Take me where my future lies Take me back to where my past resides Will you wait with open arms Knowing I hurt you I never meant you any harm Spending my life chasing highway ghosts Darkness Descending like a veil Surrounds the ones you love the most They wait for you to come around They wait for that old familiar sound Excuses falling like the rain Promises follow Do you believe me when I say There will be no more highway ghosts Redemption comes to those who wait If they can find a road that's straight Highway Leading me on 'til dawn The hours pass I'm getting close Can we reclaim what I have tossed Save a soul that has been lost I find the door wide open A voice from the shadows Says you'll give me one last chance To chase away those highway ghosts
