Story behind the song
This would have to be the strangest "behind the song story" of any of my songs. I met a minister in Jericho, of all places, who was a direct descendant of the Rev. Samuel Marsden, Australia's first minister. He asked me to write a song for the "bush". This is the result. I hope it is an inclusive song, that can cause us to reflect on the full history of the nation, not just the last 218 years.
