Old folks always said, life sure flys by fast.We never tought much about it when we were young, but as we get older we realize how much weight that statement carries.Just used a flattop, bass, and drum machine.

I'm just a 56 year old cement mixer driver who gets laid off every winter for 3 months.I enjoy writing songs and recording them myself at home on my 8 track Boss BR864 recorder. It's just another one of my many hobbies.I just do it for kicks.Just laid back musical enjoyment. I have lots of originals and collabs on my page.My originals are are true stories about me,or people I know,or how I feel about things.Collabs are all efforts of me and my Soundclick friends.Doing collabs is my favorite thing here on Soundclick.Hope ya enjoy some of the tunes.

Lyrics
Clock of Life Laurel Varner Mar 2006 when I was young,I remember old folks talk'in bout, how time goes by so fast too young to see the future not old enough to have a past Never paid too much attention at all to what I heard but as the years rolled by,I realize there was mountains, of wisdom in them words at the start,I kinda looked at life as a long and never ending road I visualized a big old sign say'in sorry, road closed Thought it would surely take forever to reach the end of that old road but i seemed to gain alot of speed with the added weight of lifes heavy load (chorus) and i keep look'in for a detour try'in to take the long way around thinki'n back when life first started seemed like this road was on flat ground but now I see it's headed downhill no turn'in back,it's just one way and the clock of life just keeps on tickin faster and faster every day (lead) seems like it was only yesterday the kids were all livin here at home now there all grown up and married and now they got kids of there own mom and dad were always on the go full of life didn't seem to have a care now they hardly ever leave the house just watch tv from their easy chair alot of things that I used to have that ment so much to me were eat'in by the hands of time and now the're lost in history the clock of life dont have no mercy it never stops,it dont slow down just times your presence on lifes highway till they plant you in the ground. (repeat chorus)
