The first time I ever composed music was in 1999 using Cakewalk which is a pure Midi based system and really never helped in what I wanted to composed but I learned a lot of music basics from it, which I think are necessary for every musician. 2001 right in the middle of my 12th Grade exams a friend of mine (Fahad was and still one of my best buddies) shows up with his latest find Fruityloops. From there on I started playing around with this program and got introduced to the idea of synths and wav forms etc, which were quite appealing and really delivered what I wanted to use in my compositions. The idea of creating my own sounds and using them in my track was really my business. Though I do not always produce sounds from sctrach unless needed such as the bass overlay synth in the Track horizontal, which took me atleast a week to make something to flow ideally with the deep house bass. However almost every preset I used is always heavily tweaked and filtered. All of this I learned from trial and error and some PDF tutorials which a few friends gave me online.
