English lyricist working with dozens of composers and artists
I am a lyricist working with many composers and artists around the world and most frequently with 2 guys, Juri Rosenfeld and Mark Ellis who, although their styles are entirely different, are both extremely talented as musicians and composers, as well as producers. Along with these two, with whom I have written more than 50 songs....I have been most fortunate to collaborate with so many others that the list is almost endless but two very talented ladies spring to mind: Dawn Diamond and Amy Caldwell, who have not only both composed for my words but have also both are possessed of beautiful voices and have sung many, many times on songs I have written. There is no ONE genre I write for, since a lyricist has to be able to write for ANY category and I do, but one thing I try to be always, is honest in my work because when there is integrity, there is a way to relate to the song and if occasionally I meander into the poetic, it is because I am and always have been, since the age of 13 years, a poet...but that doesn't mean everything I write is flowery or full of metaphors...as I say, I strive always to be real and of course, most importantly, to be as unique as possible.

Story behind the song
I heard Juri's original music and decided to find an authentic gypsy background to suit the fictional story which spring into my mind immediately.
Lyrics
Baptistas by Dawn Sinclair music by Juri Rosenfeld 1.Verse: They wandered like two nomads in the Lowlands She called him Michael Baptista for a while He always bowed and tipped his cap politely But only she, would trust his roguish smile 2.Verse She gathered heather and gave it to the rich folk And every one put silver in her hand She wore with pride the gypsy name -Baptista And no one dared to disrespect her man CHORUS : So closely closely comes a gypsy woman to her man Closer closer to her lover's eyes Her arms will hold him tight, her passions burn so bright She wouldn't see the truth in his disguise So closely closely comes a faithless lover, in the night Closer, closer to his lady's eyes His arms may hold her tight, his passions burn so bright But moonlight won't reveal his web of lies 3.Verse Gypsies holds their true name like a secret they must keep She never knew until one fateful day His heart was black as tar ,stole silver from her jar Tipped his cap and coldly walked away 4.Verse. Now all her heather she gathers in the Highlands And poor folk pay in copper for her songs But she still wears with pride the name Baptista For like her kinfolk, she’s righted all the wrongs Chorus#2 So closely closely comes a faithless lover, in the night Closer, closer to his lady's eyes His arms may hold her tight, his passions burn so bright But moonlight won't reveal his web of lies 5.Verse: When darkness came she thrust, a dagger thru his heart Staring closely closely in his cheatin’ eyes No longer will she trust, in more than wanderlust A gypsy girl will learn that, if she’s wise Gypsies hold their true name like a secret they must keep They also hold a marker til it’s paid Baptistas claim to fame, the promise in their name A heart of gold inside a soul of jade. so closely closely x3
