Outlaw Country with a touch of Bluegrass and Southern Rock. Americana. Biker Music. It's a fresh, unique sound that is hard to fit into a catagory.
Patti Stevens' first CD, produced by legendary outlaw singer/songwriter Billy Don Burns, was released in the spring of 2006. The project is full of heartfelt honesty and emotion. Her style has strong undertones of the rebellious outlaws of the past and present. It is hard to tell fact from fiction as she weaves a vivid tale in every song, each one thought provoking, and bravely exposing a part of herself. Her stories of love and life and the journey in between will bring you to tears and laughter almost simutaniously. One of Patti's songs from the CD, a fun gospel tune with a twist titled Just In Case, recently won first place in the Indianapolis Songwriters Association contest and the song She Rides has been picked up by independent artist band Cabin Row. Her tribute to the Confederate flag, The X They Stole From Dixie has been very popular with-in the biker crowd and also Civil War buffs. "I'm a Civil War buff myself and I ride a Harley, " she says, "so most of my songs are a reflection of that." She came to Nashville to create a niche for herself and she has accomplished this. Many legendary songwriters in Nashville recognized her talent and offered guidance and support...all for the love of a song. Click on Nashville Knows, a song about her first experiences in Nashville and you will hear Billy Don Burns stepping in for the last chorus...(thanks, Billy!). If you are looking for a totally different, yet pure sound, check out her songs and watch for the CD release in january. And if you are and artist interested in performing any of her songs she would love to hear from you! (bio by Paulette LaFay...Music Row, Nashville, TN)

Lyrics
Scent of An Outlaw (c)2005 Patti Stevens I see her every Sunday Waiting for the church bells to ring An injured little butterfly Wanting God to bring her back her wings I knew that girl all her life She used to be somebody's wife But she went where she never should have been Now she's searching for salvation With the scent of an outlaw on her skin No one can love her No one can touch her....Only him Leave that girl alone, man The scent of an outlaw's on her skin I knelt down right beside her Yeah, I listened to her prayer She was praying for the outlaw Didn't even notice I was there Colors from the windowpanes Danced across the preachers face When I heard her whisper out his name Oh, Lord...God help us The preacher and the outlaw were the same No one can love her No one can touch her....Only him Leave that girl alone now The scent of an outlaw's on her skin If you try to touch her You won't be seen again Leave that girl alone, man The scent of the outlaw's on her skin
