Story behind the song
The band was heading West traveling in a Thunderstorm, then hail, rain a tornado. A Fun Trip!
Lyrics
I’m riding through like midnight thunder, under clouds in the dark. Nobody seems to see us coming through the backdoor, now we’re here to stay. I got something. I got something else. Something behind me that you can’t see. I’ll keep run, but you’ll never find out. You can’t even pry it out of me. I’m riding in Loud Thunder! Yah, yah! I’m free in Loud Thunder… < Short lead guitar part.> I got a Big Black Dog & he’s scared of the weather, and I think that the cat is too. I know my family will head on down to the basement, cause they think that it’s a tornado too. As for Me, I love thunder! I feel the wind & like to hear it blow. Yah there’s a mystery ascending in the clouds. So, I’ll head westward, that I know. In Loud Thunder! Loud Thunder.
