Story behind the song
I write one song a year per grandchild, and this was my song for Noah for 2005.
It began life as an Esus tune, and though it ultimately finalized as a C2 tuning piece (CGCGCD) I like some of the differences that are in this version.
This version features the lower octave chorus, whereas the C2 version features the chorus in the high range. This rendition has a bit more energy and is a third higher with more harmonious chordal texture without the parallel octaves of C2.
I just couldn't bear to leave it out of the project. Actually, this is the version of the tune I play live most often since it doesn't require a radical retuning of the guitar (just slap on the Esus capo and go).
